Consignment Preparation

Specialist packaging, safe handling, and a verifiable chain-of-custody

Flight cases & ESD: foam-lined cases optics capped.

Pallet + collars: layered load, edge guards, cap/strap/wrap.

Vehicle restraint: low centre, E/L-track straps, chocks.

IDs & evidence: barcode/QR, seals, shock/tilt, photo POD.

How Does It Work: Consignment Preparation

At intake we complete a visual condition audit on every item: high-resolution, time-stamped photographs are taken from all sides and any pre-existing damage is logged against the asset. Serial numbers and device identifiers are captured and verified, then each unit is assigned the safest pack method for its weight, fragility and route—flight case, pallet with collars, or carton—with internal protection specified (foam density, bracing, anti-static wraps).

A unique barcode/QR (Quick Response) code is generated and applied, a numbered tamper seal is reserved, and a digital consignment manifest is opened to start the chain-of-custody record. From that point, every movement, seal change and photo is appended to the manifest, enabling real-time status, clean hand-offs, and auditable traceability end-to-end.

How do we pack your IT equipment?

Foam Line Custom Flight Cases (Data Centre Standard)

  • Inspect and photograph each unit; record serials and note visible damage carefully.

  • ESD-wrap the device, then seat it in a foam-lined flight case precisely.

  • Place rails, PSUs and cables in labelled accessory bays/beside devices; protect optics carefully if open.

  • Fit shock/tilt indicators if specially required and log the reference numbers for traceability.

  • Apply barcode/QR, numbered seal, and weight/dims labels to the case for tracking.

  • Split chassis from rails; mark re-fit order in the destination runbook clearly.

Pallet & Pallet Box Systems

  • ISPM-15 pallet (or plastic) checked for condition and fork spacing.

  • Base board to spread loads; heaviest low & central with edge/corner guards.

  • Interlocked layers; collars form rigid sides; top cap; two cross-straps + perimeter straps.

  • Multi-pass shrink-wrap with rope band; document pouch on outer collar.

  • Controls: no overhang; height/weight within limits; forks fully under load; tamper seals on collar clips; shock/tilt if needed; 4-side + top photos; dims/weights + stack ability recorded for freight.

Cardboard Box & Foam or Anti-static Bubble Wrap

  • Double-wall / tri-wall with foam blocks/sleeves + anti-static bags.

  • Internals braced; no loose-fill; H-taped with reinforced tape; orientation/“no stack” marks as needed.

  • Small parts in inner cartons; tamper-evident tape/seals available.

  • Note: lower protection vs flight cases; may be unsuitable for some air/ULD routings.

Loading vans and trucks (restraint & distribution)

Loads travel on unbranded, air-ride vehicles with E-track/L-track for restraint. We weight-balance front-to-back and left-to-right, keeping heavy items low. Flight cases are chocked and strapped at rated points; pallets are blocked and strapped to the floor or track. We use dock levellers where available or tail-lifts + load plates/ramps; manual handling uses dollies, skates and lifters inside limits. No hub transfers by default; if a layover is unavoidable, the vehicle is parked in alarmed/CCTV facilities. Doors are sealed, drivers receive the manifest, and telematics update milestones. Control measures including: strap inspection before departure; lashing angles correct; nothing against door gear; service-brake applied while loading; route and contingency filed (re-flight/relay drive/re-route).
