Data Cabling Installation, IT Office Move
We were recommended by one of our clients to this international health insurance company, who asked us to assist with their office move in London. Due to expansion, our client was in the process of refurbishing their new, prestigious West End office. The IT equipment, comprising of 60 trader desks, plus a rack of servers and switches were required to be decommissioned, transported and recommissioned. The complex, and individual setup of the trader desks meant special care and attention was required to ensure each environment was re-commissioned in exactly the same configuration and layout so staff could begin work first thing Monday morning without disruption.
Data Cabling Installation
Working alongside the clients fit out company, we installed just over 200 Cat6 data outlets, under the rasied floor to floor boxes. All outlets were tested with a Fluke DTX1800 tester and a 25 year warranty provided.
On the friday night, we de-commissioned and packed all desktop PC's, monitors etc.wrapped them in anti-static bubble bags and placed them into labelled IT crates. At the same time, the rack mounted servers and network equipment were completely de-commissioned and packed into our flight cases. The crates and flight cases were transported to the new office that night. The server equipment was required to be re-commissioned into the new, larger server room which had much more space to allow for expansion. The newly purchased racks were assembled with PDU's and connected together with baying kits, before the servers and newtork devices were re-racked and cabled up to the plan agreed with the client. The infrastructure was completely tested sucessfully before our team left site. On Saturday our engineers re-commissioned the desktops and patched the comms cabinet ensuring everything worked before handing over to the client.
The relocation was a success, completed both to schedule and to budget.
